To fight and not to heed the wounds
To toil and not to seek for rest
To labor and not to ask for reward
Save that of knowing that we do your will”-St. Ignatius Loyola
St. John’s Co-Ed School had its inception as St John’s Junior School on 17 October 2001. The school was founded by Mr. D. R. Innis, and Mrs. A. O. Ireland, the Co-Founder. Classes ranged from Pre-Nursery to Class II, with around two hundred students. As the school expanded, it shifted to its current premises at 558, R.K. Puram, in April 2002, where it came to be known as “St. John’s Co-Ed School”.
St John’s Co-Ed is a Non Profit Minority and Charitable Institution governed by the Ernest Wilfred Society for Education and Charity. The school takes no grants or aid from the government. The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi (CISCE) vide registration number UP271.
St John’s is located in a pollution free environment, just two kilometers away from the main township of Naini. The school has a well-equipped modern infrastructure with distinct junior and senior blocks, to house the needs of its ever growing students. St John’s has three well equipped modern science labs, a large computer facility and a library to serve both the junior and senior schools. There is a large playing field along with a games room to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship in a child thereby fostering an all-round physical and mental growth of a child. There is an efficient transport system with a modern fleet of vehicles plying the city catering to the needs essentially of primary school students and ensuring their safe passage to and from school.
The school has competent and qualified teaching staff, which have specialized in teaching different subjects. Our staff is selected after a rigorous process of elimination to ensure we retain only the best for our students. It is our endeavor to bring about a high fluency and proficiency in the use of the English Language by the students studying here. The students of St John’s Co-Ed are encouraged to converse and express themselves only in English whilst in the school premises.
In keeping with today’s fast paced technical environmental needs, the school has adapted itself to provide the latest in teaching methods to its students. We have introduced “Teach Next” which harnesses the power of technology to bring the joy of teaching and learning into a modern classroom. By use of this technology, students are taught their regular curriculum subjects daily in an interactive environment using 2D and 3D formats. The child develops an interest and joy in learning about regular subjects by being free to explore/research further using this technology. It brings the joy back in learning for a child.
To ensure proper parent teacher communication the school has developed a web based system that provisions for regular daily updates of all students studying here. All performance data that includes progress report cards, attendance tracking, daily performance, Curricular and co-curricular activities, the transport system is all available via the system. Teachers and also the School Management being connected via this tracker are able to watch/monitor an individual child’s progress within the school education system. Parents are sent regular SMS updates from this system of their child’s progress.
Our first batch of students appeared for the ICSE examination in Year 2009, and have since subsequently distinguished themselves as outstanding merit holders year after year. This led to the school introducing the ISC classes from the Academic Session 2013-2014. The first batch of students for ISC appeared in February 2015, of which a majority secured a good percentage and passed with flying colors. The Alumni of the school do us proud as active torch bearers of the school while being a part of leading colleges and institutions of the country.
While there is still a lot to be achieved, we are optimistic of a promising future for all of us here at St John’s Co-Ed School!!
